Expert says peeing every two hours is healthy as she shares urinating habits

When you gotta go, you gotta go.

But how do you know if you’re making too many trips to the loo – or too few – it could be a sign that something is wrong.

Are you guilty of running off to the loo for a nervous wee or a ‘we’re not stopping so try and go before we leave’ pit stop?

Or have you found yourself stuck on the train or out at the cinema, leaving you holding your pee in for as long as you can?

If you’re guilty might be time to rethink your next bathroom break.

A pelvic floor physiotherapist revealed how often you should be peeing, and how to do it in a healthy way.

Holding your urine for too long can weaken the bladder muscles over time.

It can also lead to problems such as incontinence and not being able to fully empty your bladder. Holding your urine for extremely long periods of time can also cause urinary tract infections due to bacteria build-up.

Georgia, who works for Australian pelvic floor wellness brand, BIEN Australia, shared the ‘normal bladder habits’ on the company's TikTok page.

According to LadBible, the physiotherapist explains: "Opening your bladder every two to three hours is deemed normal.

"If you're holding on for longer periods of time or going shorter than that, both of the ends of the spectrum can lead to pelvic floor dysfunction."

So, how do you know if you're having a 'healthy' wee?
